As John Travolta and Kelly Preston have been piecing their lives back together since the untimely death of their son, Jett, Bahamian prosecutors have been busily piecing together a case against the duo accused of trying to profit from their loss.

The nation's director of public prosecutions said Thursday that his team is ready to go to trial after collecting all of the necessary witness statements and other evidence they feel is needed to successfully convict former island Sen. Pleasant Bridgewater and paramedic Tarino Lightbourne of conspiracy and attempted extortion.

Travolta was named as a witness earlier in the investigation, but no word yet on whether he'll take the stand during the trial.

Bridgewater and Lightbourne are currently each free on $50,000 bail. Both were charged in January with plotting to bilk $25 million from the Travoltas with the help of a "refusal to transport" document, which supposedly was intended to imply that John and Kelly didn't do all that was in their power to save Jett when the 16-year-old suffered a seizure at the family's vacation villa.

Jett had not suffered a minor injury and instead "was very ill, and so the document doesn't come into play," Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police Marvin Dames told the Nassau Guardian at the time.

Arraignment has been scheduled for April 28. Both Bridgewater and Lightbourne have maintained their innocence since being arrested.

A third man, Travolta family friend and former Bahamian government official M.P. Obie Wilchcombe, was questioned in connection with the investigation but never charged.

According to Australia's Courier-Mail, Travolta and Preston just spent three days in Brisbane after vacationing over the Easter holiday in Fiji. They flew in on their private jet Monday morning and left yesterday evening.

The "Disturbia" star's first performance since her altercation with Chris Brown will be a May 28 concert in Dubai, E! News confirms.

“There will be over 25,000 tickets available,” says Mary Rachelle Cherpak, a spokeswoman for Dubai Tourism. “They will be going on sale in the next couple of days.”

Though the location is still TBD, she says it will most likely be a designer outdoor venue.

Says Cherpak: “Normally they create a special stage in the desert for these events."

Rihanna had been scheduled to perform at the Grammys on Feb. 8, but she canceled just before the ceremony following the incident with Brown. Her last concert was Jan. 29 in Los Angeles.

Nate Dogg Charged With Stalking

The charges were dropped April 15, with prosecutors saying that the alleged victim, Nate Dogg's estranged wife, never contaced them.

At arraignment, the rapper had pleaded not guilty on all counts.

Nate Dogg is in some deep doo-doo.

Los Angeles prosecutors have slapped the hip-hopster with felony stalking charges stemming from his arrest last month for threatening his estranged wife.

The 38-year-old Grammy-nominated performer, born Nathaniel Dwayne Hale, was collared on June 23 after California Highway Patrol received a 911 call from his missus, identified only as Latoya C. in court documents, claiming he threatened her life and was chasing her on Interstate 405.

Dogg is set to be arraigned on July 16 on two felony counts of making criminal threats, one felony count of stalking and one misdemeanor charge of driving with a suspended license from a previous DUI.

"[Hale made a] credible threat with the intent that she be placed in reasonable fear for her safety and the safety of her immediate family," the complaint reads.

His attorney, Mark Geragos, was not immediately available for comment.

Dogg, who's best known for his guest appearances on hit albums by the likes of 50 Cent, Eminem and his cousin Snoop Dogg, has had run-ins with the law before. He was sentenced to probation in March for attacking an ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend two years ago.
